Burmese Bronze Buddha Cutting Hair Ceremony
Triangular base with open apron, After crossing the River Anoma, the future Buddha removes his precious princely dress, with his sword he cuts a lock of hair. It is received by the KIng of the Gods, Indra (Sakka), and his companion, thereafter it is to be honored as a relic, 3.5H x 3″ D, found buried next to religious site, Pagan Dynasty, 18th-19th century
