Description

Antique pair of Chinese Shi (fu-lions). Carved of wood and lacquered red. These traditional guardians were placed on either side of an important door to guard against dangerous spiritual elements and people. They are male (with his paw on a ball) and female (with a cub).

Age: early 20th century

Dimensions: 18 1/4: high x 18″ wide x 14″ deep. And 18 3/4″ high x 19″ wide x 15″ deep.
