An antique Japanese 3 section Isho Tansu (Kimono chest) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. The top section features sliding doors behind which three small drawers reside where wardrobe accessories were stored with a spacious storage area to the left. The two bottom sections each hold three spacious drawers for the storage of Kimono. All original finish and hardware. Additional features include handle cut-outs to the sides of each drawer allowing them to be carried as storage trays and side handles on the sections which act as locking connectors between the sections when lowered and side carrying handles when raised.
Age: Late Meiji/Taisho Era (1910-1920)
