An antique Japanese Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. Original copper clad metal hardware. Lift-up side handles on top section and swivel-up side handles on bottom section allows two persons to move each section by sliding a wood pole through the handles to carry.

Originally used for kimono storage, it functions well as a night stand (space permitting) or a dresser drawer for clothes storage.
