Antique Japanese bronze vase with incised design. A vertical row of diamond shaped reserves with plum or cherry blossom and bamboo motif. Unusual overall form with wide mouth. Signed on the bottom and coated on the inside to hold water for flower arrangements. Comes with signed tomobako. (玉仙) The signature on the bottom is Gyokusen, the lower left of the box lid is Gyokusen-zо̄ ("Made by Gyokusen"), and the seal in red is also Gyokusen (right to left) the middle column on the box lid says: 美術花瓶 Bijutsu kabin "Fine art vase" Age: Deco Era (circa 1930) Dimensions: 13 1/4" high x 6" wide (box: 16 3/4" high x 9" wide x 7 1/2" deep)
