Japanese Antique Unusual Gyosho Bako (Peddler's Box)
Unusual Japanese antique gyosho bako (peddler's box), would have been carried by peddler on his back, made of light natural kiri wood, 5 drawers with copper lockplates and hirute shaped drawer pulls, extensive bronze hardware including bracing on corners and wonderful corner hardware on each drawer in the form of a chrysanthemum flower, writing on the back of the top drawer has mark of family name Hujushi and says the chest was purchased on May 22nd of year 4. This chest was made during the Edo Period.
