Japanese Antique 2-section Yonezawa Isho Tansu
Beautiful Japanese antique 2 section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing), from the Yonezawa area of Japan, made of kuri (chestnut) wood with original deep reddish brown lacquer finish; top section has 2 large drawers, a small drawer and a safe box with key, the safe box has 2 interior drawers; the bottom section has 2 large drawers; wonderful iron hardware with deep orange-red patina, hardware includes moko shaped drawer pulls with pine bow back plates, large round lock plates with incised plum blossom motif and round seed pods in drawer corners, Meiji Period (1868-1912).
Size; 39" high x 44 1/4" wide x 17 3/4" deep.
