Japanese Rare Hair Ornament Tansu
Unusual Japanese hair ornament merchant tansu, made of kiri (paulownia) wood, original dark finish, top portion has a series of 16 small drawers all held in place by a single locking bar with heavy scrolling vine iron hardware, below are 6 small drawers with matching iron lock plates, drawer pulls are all made of bronze, Edo Period (c1800).
