Lovely antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest), made of keyaki (elm) wood with original deep reddish orange translucent lacquer finish, iron hardware, locking bar with iron kiri mon (crest), comes with a key, Edo/Meiji Period (mid 1800's).
