Antique Japanese Funa-dansu (ship tansu)
Beautiful antique Japanese funa-dansu (ship merchant's safe box), made of kiri (paulownia) wood with extensive ironwork on the front, interior has smaller drawers with more iron hardware including two smaller lock plates and square handles, original dark wiped lacquer finish, Edo Period (early 19th century).
