Antique Japanese Tansu from the Iwayado area
Beautiful antique Japanese isho-dansu (clothing chest), made with keyaki (elm) wood drawer panels and sugi (cryptomeria) wood frame, beautiful original deep red kijiro lacquer finish on front, top and sides, iron hardware with phoenix shaped lock plate on top drawer, ivy leaf shaped lock plates on other drawers, Meiji Period (mid to late 1800's).
