Description

Chinese jade carving known as a cong, an implement dating back to Neolithic China, once used for unknown but culturally important reasons. The cong is often seen with squared outer edges carved of a taotie or beast’s mask, which the inside is smoothed round with a central groove. The stone’s coloring is light green with mottled brown.
