Of dual construction technique lost wax casting and repousee work in order to achieve a realistic interpretation of the materials; Particularly the folds of fabric and the separate molding of the figure. The seated, embracing figures have a sense of spatial relation between the two, creating a tension in the composition and resulting in a naturalism of the posture. The upper body, head, hands, and feet are cast. The skirt and folds of fabric in dress is done in repousee. The crown jewels are turquoise, crystal, ruby, emerald, and carnelian. The gilt bronze figures are riveted together, overlapped and interlocked creating the embrace of the two deities with realism. The under structure of the sculpture has several tangs protruding, suggesting it may have once sat on a lotus base.
