Pair of Chinese antique hardwood panels intricately carved to look like 3 dimensional display cases complete with small glass cabinet doors. Each shelf is decorated with a scholarly arrangement including vases with orchids, lotus and bamboo; containers with fruit, fans and painting implements – all ornately carved with the most exquisite detail. Fine materials include jades of many colors, rare hardwoods, mother of pearl, jasper and other semi precious stones. There is even a miniature cloisonne vase and censor.

19th or early 20th century.

Size of each panel: 49″ high (52″ high including hook) x 30 3/4″ wide x 1 1/2″ deep.
