Description

Brilliant snuff bottle made of peking glass with blue, pink, and gold flecked glass. Peking glass (or Tao Liao Ping) is made by dipping a single-color glass base into colored glass one layer at a time and then carving the outer layers away to reveal the contrasting colors underneath. The sides and bottom of the bottle have a star design etched into the glass, and its purple stopper looks almost as if it is set in a crown. 19th/20th century
