Antique Japanese 2-section futon tansu, made with chestnut wood frame, keyaki (elm) wood drawers and slider panels, sugi (cryptomeria) wood interior, iron hardware, top section has been converted into an entertainment center with shelves for components (can be removed if desired), small safe box compartment with key and two small drawers inside, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size: 68" high x 68" wide x 30" deep.

Large Chinese wedding bed with canopy, red and gold lacquer, extensive carving and lattice work, shelf unit on upper portion of interior with 7 drawers, elaborate decorative carving including bird and flowers on black lacquer ground on inside of bed, exterior of front of bed is pierce carved with designs of more birds and flowers as well as fudogs, phoenixes, deer and dragons, mother of pear inlay around edges of carved area, circa 1920.
