Japanese Silk Embroidered Scroll with Landscape
Japanese landscape scroll, painted and embroidered silk, scene of rural mountain village, clouds floating over mountains in the background, village with many thatched roofed houses nestled in mountains and trees, a mill with a water wheel turns the water from a rocky stream, everything is executed in tiny embroidered knots, 6 characters at the bottom, this piece was displayed in the first trade show with Japan after WWII in Seattle in 1951.

Charming miniature zushi shrine with black lacquer on the outside and gilt lacquer on the inside in which stands a tiny rustically carved and painted wooden figure of the Shinto Guardian Fudo Myoo, he stands and hold various tiny metal implements in his six hands, short sword, long handled trident, rope with tally, dorje, behind head a round gilt metal nimbus with flames, late Edo/early Meiji Periods.
