Japanese landscape scroll, painted and embroidered silk, scene of rural mountain village, clouds floating over mountains in the background, village with many thatched roofed houses nestled in mountains and trees, a mill with a water wheel turns the water from a rocky stream, everything is executed in tiny embroidered knots, 6 characters at the bottom, this piece was displayed in the first trade show with Japan after WWII in Seattle in 1951. Size: 55" high x 25 1/2" wide.
