Rare and beautiful Japanese antique gold lacquer box, decorated all over with raised gold lacquer depicting scene of trees and rolling hills in mist, rimmed in silver, interior has dense nishiji (gold flecks) and raised gold lacquer rounds depicting different flowers, fish and birds, many details on both the outside and inside are high lighted with tiny inlaid gold flecks, wonderful condition, Meiji Period.

Japanese Okimono of an Old Samurai with Lantern
Charming Japanese carved okimono, made of ivory and ironwood, depicting figure of an old man dressed in the formal attire of a samurai leaning over a lantern; his head and hands are carved of ivory as are various decorative rounds on his hakama (pants) and the mon (family crest) on is robes and lantern, signed on the bottom of one sandal, Showa Period (circa late 1940's).
