Japanese 2pc Kiri Isho Tansu, Edo Period
Japanese 2 section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing),
made of kiri (paulownia) wood, 4 large drawers, safe box in lower right hand corner with 2 small interior drawers, heavy iron hardware including elaborately cut out corner brackets on drawers and safe door, side hardware with unusually heavy duty handles for carrying, Edo Period (early 1800's).
Size: 39" high x 41" wide (43" wide including side handles) x 18 3/4" deep.
