Japanese Antique Maple Wood Cha Tansu (Tea Chest)
Japanese antique cha tansu (tea chest), beautiful original deep brown translucent lacquer finish, 3 compartments with sliding panels, 5 drawers (2 large,3 medium), one drop in panel in the middle of right side, made of sugi wood with maple wood panels framed in chestnut and maple wood drawer fronts, Taisho Period.
Size: 40 1/2" high x 28 1/2" wide x 13 1/4" deep.

Japanese antique choba tansu (merchant's storage chest), made of all of thick kiri (paulownia) wood, heavy iron hardware including round lock plates on every compartment, 8 exterior drawers of different sizes, safe box in lower right hand corner has 2 small interior drawers, sliders open to compartment with one shelf, wonderful iron sliders pulls with fudogs and peonies on rocks, Meiji Period.
