Antique Japanese suzuri bako (merchant's writing box), unusual configuration of drawers, one tiny drawer in upper left corner, larger drawer has heavy iron lock plate and hirute shaped pull, interior of the larger drawer has dividers, lid opens with iron warabite shaped handle, hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood with original dark brown finish, Edo Period (late 18th/ early 19th century). Size: 9 1/2" high x13 1/4" wide x 9 3/4" deep.

Antique Japanese unusual box, lid with nice iron work lock plate opens to reveal removable tray, front of box has two drawers with hidden compartment in between, warabite shaped iron handles on sides and front, all sugi (cryptomeria) wood with original dark finish, writing in sumi ink on tray and underside of lid probably stating previous owners, Edo Period (late 18th/early 19th century). Size: 19" high x 18" wide x 12 1/2" deep.

Antique Japanese fune tansu (ship safe box), made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) and sugi (cryptomeria) woods with kiri (paulownia) wood on inside of drawers, heavy iron hardware including cross bracing on both the front and back, heavy iron hinges on door, interior has 6 drawers of different sizes two of which have iron lock plates, warabite shaped drawer pulls and handle on top, Edo Period (late 18th/early 19th century). Two section antique Japanese tansu made of Kiri wood with original finish. It has five large drawers and a safe compartment with two drawers. It is from the Motsumoto area and was made during the Meiji period, 1868-1912. It is adorned with the original wrought iron hardware and drawer pulls. It measures 46.5" tall 16.5" deep 34" wide. Each section measures 22.75" tall.

Below the sliding panels is a horizontal row of 3 small drawers. The middle section has three drawers and the bottom section has 2 larger drawers. Decorative back plates on each handle.
