Chinese 4 panel round inlaid lacquer screen, carved dragons on base, design of flower arrangements and scholar objects inlaid in many different materials including wood, coral, jade, ivory, agate, tiger's eye, lapis, adventurine, sun stone, rose quartz, jasper and more; back has large colorful dragon, circa 1950's.

Chinese Antique Root Wood Bench
Antique Chinese bench made of root wood, hardwood seat, very elaborate natural form root wood, dark finish, 19th century. This type of furniture was highly prized by religious figures and ascetics of the Song Dynasty symbolizing a lack of attachment to earthly goods. This idea was later adopted by Ming literati. The Qianlong emperor chose a suite of rootwood furniture and had his portrait painted in a rootwood chair.
